MEET DIETITIAN HANNAH
Some fun facts about Hannah!
Hi there, I'm Hannah! I have always been passionate about food - eating it and learning about it! I completed my Nutrition Degree at the University of Saskatchewan and am currently a Registered Dietitian registered with the Saskatchewan Dietetic Association with a temporary license with the College of Dietitians of Alberta to support clients online in Edmonton, Calgary, and beyond.
Prior to studying nutrition, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan and my Personal Training Certification through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP)! Eating disorder support and treatment as well as nutritional counselling for disordered eating is a primary focus in my dietetic practice.
I was born and raised in Saskatoon. I love this city for the river, trails, restaurants and most importantly, that you can get anywhere in 20 minutes or less!
I am so honoured to be part of the Vitality Nutrition team, where I can combine my knowledge in the areas of human physiology and movement with nutrition to help clients reach their health-related goals while improving their quality of life.Work with Hannah
HANNAH'S PRIMARY AREAS OF FOCUS
Disordered eating: Disordered eating is behaviour, thoughts and even emotions that revolve around food and unhealthy eating patterns, as well as excessive worries about one’s body image. Building a trusting relationship with food and body is a primary focus of Hannah's nutrition practice.
Eating disorders: Feeding and eating disorders are diagnosed by medical professionals. Hannah's dietetic practice includes support for individuals diagnosed with an eating disorder including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, orthorexia, and other eating disorders. You can learn more about the types of eating disorders on the the National Eating Disordered Information Centre (NEDIC) website which can be found here.
Improving relationship with food and body: Hannah supports her clients to cultivate positive and healing connections with food, eating, and their body image.
Support for emotional eating: Dietitians can help you understand how your emotions and food choices are linked. Consultations with a nutritionist can help you increase self awareness by identifying emotions and how they relate to food. Hannah will support you in exploring ways to cope with emotions while supporting you with healthy nutrition and lifestyle habits.
Eating disorders, disordered eating, emotional eating, and body images are complex. For this reason, many individuals may wish to seek professional help which includes the support of a Registered Dietitian such as Hannah Murray.
Hannah supports clients with in-person consultations in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and online across Saskatchewan including Regina. Hannah holds a temporary dietetic license in Alberta and supports clients online through virtual consultations across Alberta including Edmonton and Calgary.
